Zara is now living with Abi and Thomas

Posted by Brendan Cooper

As we told you in your last Pupdate, Zara has left Louise and Gary because she's moved on from puppy socialising. She's now learning to recognise important sounds, and how to alert people to them. We call this 'soundwork', and it's what makes our dogs so very special. We will tell you all about this in your next printed update, but in the meantime we wanted to show you that Zara continues to have a wonderful life!

She trains during weekdays, but the rest of the time she's looked after and loved by Abi and Thomas. We call this 'Bed and Breakfast', which makes Abi and Thomas her B&B volunteers.

Says Abi: "Zara absolutely LOVES tennis balls! She would have made a brilliant 'ball girl' at Wimbledon. She just keeps going - it's a great way to let off steam after a busy day at school."

Below, you can see Zara waiting for a ball. She looks very expectant! What do you think is going through her mind? Comment below and tell us!

Thomas continues: "When Zara is excited she spins in a circle. This can be when she is waiting for her favourite tennis ball to be thrown or even just the anticipation of dinner time."

This is so funny! She used to do this when she was a pup! It's so lovely to think that no matter how our pups grow and develop, they still retain some of their unique little mannerisms.

Abi concludes: "Zara is a very happy and independent pup who loves cuddles!"

She's certainly happy. Here are some photos they shared with us. Zara looks happy in a field...

... and happy in a forest.

She also looks magnificent in a forest...

... shows off her delicate features from time to time (this is her best side)...

... occasionally sticks her tongue out...

... and sometimes does her 'Queen of Sheba' impersonation.

We will tell you more about what Zara's up to, in her training and her playtime, in her next printed update. For now however, as always, thank you so very much for sponsoring her!

Hi, I'm Brendan. I write all your sponsor pup updates, printed and online. It's a hard life, writing about cute puppies who, with your support, will grow up to help deaf people leave loneliness behind. I am partially deaf myself, so I have some insights into the challenges deafness can bring. However, I don't have a dog of my own: I have two Maine Coon cats who are quite dog-like and take up most of my time!
